Anderson Cooper announced on his AC 360 show last night that CNN news anchor Erica Hill is leaving to take a spot at CBS. He said, “I cannot imagine doing this program without Erica Hill and I cannot express how much I’m going to miss you.”
Erica first appeared on CNN Headline News in 2003. In 2005 she began providing news updates for Anderson Cooper and in 2008 joined his program full time.
The popular female newswoman already has a weekend gig on CBS, anchoring the Saturday edition of the CBS Early Show since 2008. She is likely to replace, at least temporarily, the pregnant Maggie Rodriguez on the weekday edition of the CBS Early Show with Harry Smith.
Hill, 33, graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a BA in journalism. She married David Yount in 2005. Their son Weston Robert was born in 2006.
