Season thirteen of Dancing with the Stars started out with twelve celebrities and their pro partners. That number has been cut to just three remaining contestants who will vie this week for the coveted championship and mirrorball trophy.
Over the past three months war hero J.R. Martinez, talk show host Ricki Lake and late blooming reality star Rob Kardashian have mastered ten dances, rehearsed seven days a week, and battled a number of injuries.
Lake and her partner Derek Hough have been consistently at the top of the leaderboard, along with J.R. and Karina Smirnoff. Rob and his veteran pro partner Cheryl Burke were near the bottom of the heap in early weeks but have gained momentum and confidence.
Ricki had a bad week after suffering a painful bruised rib midway through the season, and J.R. rolled his ankle before the semi-final round and received his worst scores of the season.
Kardashian, 24, remains healthy and has picked up strong supports from all three judges. This dark horse started out with obvious self esteem issues but has slowly been transformed into a serious contender.
What are the finalists saying on Twitter? Derek tweeted, “Ricki and I are working our bootys off for the Finals. Thank u all for your support. AMEN!” His partner Ricki has mixed emotions, “Happy and sad it’s almost over.”
Martinez and Smirnoff uploaded a photo showing her holding a package of Bengay and he with products Cold & Hot and Advil. He tagged it, “Guess what our Saturday night looks like? Exciting huh.”
This morning he quoted Mother Teresa, “Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”
Rob Kardashian changed the avatar on his Twitter page and it is HOT. Check it out after the jump:
Will Rob and Cheryl be the last couple standing on Tuesday night? Don’t count them out just yet…
