NFL player Darnell Stapleton is the right offensive guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 23-year-old is Super Bowl bound after 14 consecutive starts on the Steeler’s offensive line.
His collegiate career was at Rutgers, where he was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, awarded to the nation’s top center. He was picked up as an undrafted free agent by Pittsburgh prior to the 2007 season and became the backup center for the ’08 season.
Stapleton made his debut against Houston in October 2008, after right offensive guard Kendall Simmons suffered a season ending Achilles tendon injury on September 29 and was put on injured reserve status.
We’ve heard that Darnell has a long time girlfriend. If so, the woman has been able to keep a very low profile. We’d welcome any insight our readers might have on that front.
The 6’3″, 285 pound athlete can be seen in photos below.
