Celebrities are Twittering about their personal and professional lives in increasing numbers, giving fans a chance to feel connected on a more personal level than ever before.
Is this a good thing? Isn’t the allure of celebrities the illusion that they are so far removed from the mundane world of us lesser humans that the chances of connecting with them are zilch?
Twitter is challenging the disconnect, allowing fans to send personal messages to their favorite celebs, enhancing the feeling that they “know” celebrities.
