Britney Spears announced her Planet Hollywood residency in Las Vegas Tuesday with an early morning desert event that left her air sick after what was to have been an exciting entrance via helicopter.
Spears was all smiles when she boarded the military green craft but she was slightly less enthusiastic when she hit the ground. She later lamented the experience with this tweet:
The pop princess told ‘GMA’ host Sam Campion that she got sick during her short trip out to the location in the Mojave desert where 1350 fans were assembled to help her celebrate a new single ‘Work Bitch,’ and officially reveal a lucrative 50 show per year gig that will span two years and pay her $310,000 per show. We’ve done the math and she’s looking at $15 million for year one alone.
Britney seemed iffy at best when asked by Campion if she planned to live in Las Vegas for the next two years during her ‘Piece of Me’ gig. Sources indicate she has no intention of doing so now that her two sons are enrolled in school back in L.A. She’ll likely opt to fly in and out via chartered plane.
Tickets go on sale beginning Friday for shows starting Dec. 27. Ticket prices range from $59 to $179 — with the lower end seats looking like a real bargain in Sin City.
