Britney Spears attended a court session yesterday with her ex husband Kevin Federline. The purpose of the hearing was to review progress made by the singer in terms of her emotional and mental state and solicit recommendations from a court monitored observer, who has been on hand while Britney interacts with her young sons Jayden James and Sean Preston.

According to K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, Spears has been given some additional leeway in the current visitation arrangement that Commissioner Gordon had previously granted in “recognition of the progress that has been made”. While it is not what Britney was hoping for, it shows that the court is receptive to the changes that are taking place in the celebrities life. The next hearing is slated for July.

Britney makes her second appearance on How I Met Your Mother on Monday, May 12. She is very upbeat about her recent acting opportunities and indicates that the experience has been a very positive one for her. The CBS sitcom received a huge ratings boost from Spears previous appearance, making the callback a no brainer.

In the new episode, Britney’s character interacts with Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Barney. Harris got into some hot water with show executives following Britney’s last appearance on the show and had to do some tap dancing to extricate his foot from his mouth. Check out the details HERE.

This past weekend the pop star flew home to Louisiana to participate in her sister Jamie Lynn’s baby shower. The 17 year old is due in late June. The OK! Magazine photos show a seemingly relaxed and upbeat Britney. The trip back home gave the family an opportunity to have some one-on-one time with each other after a very stressful year in the press.
