The Black Crowes are calling out country singer Gretchen Wilson for her song Work Hard, Play Harder saying that she copied their 1991 hit Jealous Again.
The Crowes have filed a copyright infringement suit against Wilson. Chris Robinson and Rich Robinson are not commenting at this time nor is Gretchen.
Longtime manager for the Black Crowes isn’t keeping as quiet and had this to say:
“We find the musical verses of Wilson’s song to be such an obvious example of copyright infringement that I expect all parties to reach a relatively quick resolution to avoid legalization.”
We have a portion of Gretchen’s song and the Black Crowes song. Tell us what you think. Did she steal from the rock group? I gotta tell you I think there definitely seems to be some strong similarities. But who knows – maybe they just have similar writing styles – that can happen right?
