Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora hosted a Sweet 16 birthday bash for their daughter Ava Sambora last week.
The ‘Melrose Place’ alum and her rocker ex-husband conducted themselves like best pals during the lavish party held at L.A.’s Four Seasons Hotel last Friday night.
Locklear and Sambora divorced six years ago after ending their 13-year marriage. They remain close for the sake of their teenager. He acknowledged, “Heather and I really respect each other, and we’ve become better friends. We’re in a great place in our relationship.”
Richie recently taught Ava to drive and she proudly announced on Twitter the day she turned sixteen, “Ya girl is licensed.”
Ava is an aspiring-actress, having landed a part in the Judd Apatow comedy ‘This is 40.’ She recently told a reporter, “Filming was an amazing experience.”
Both of her celebrity parents have struggled in the past with alcohol and drug demons. Richie remains estranged from his Bon Jovi band mates after abruptly leaving the tour on April 2, 2013.
