Executive Producer Ashton Kutcher’s new series was the first casualty of the new fall TV season with the cancellation of The Beautiful Life starring Mischa Barton after just two episodes. A total of six episodes had been filmed by a cast that included Corbin Bleu, Elle Macpherson and Sara Paxton.
The CW pulled the plug on the high-fashion modeling plot on Friday and production has ceased. The show had a great lead-in with America’s Next Top Model, but sixty percent of that audience bailed to another network rather than view the debut episode. Week two was even more dismal with less than 1 million views…presumably the crowd that follows Kutcher on Twitter. “Tweet” that Ashton!
Other shows that have gotten off to a rocky start and may be next on the chopping block include Parks and Recreation with Amy Poehler and the new Jenna Elfman sitcom Accidentally on Purpose.
