Anoop Desai performed the Willie Nelson song You Were Always On My Mind during American Idol‘s Grand Ole Opry themed show. The contestants were mentored by country singer Randy Travis, who predicted that this would be Anoop’s best performance so far this season.
The judges were all in Desai’s corner. Highest praise came from Simon Cowell, who said that Anoop had just gone “from zero to hero.”
