Alex O’Loughlin of Hawaii Five-0 fame has entered a drug treatment facility according to CBS.
A rep for the Australian actor said, “Alex is taking a short break to receive supervised treatment for prescription pain medication due to a recent shoulder injury.”
The studio also released a short statement: “We respect and support Alex’s decision. Everyone at CBS TV Studios and Hawaii Five-0 wishes him well and we look forward to his return.”
The 35-year-old actor portrays Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett in the popular drama. With 19 episodes completed and the last one of the season nearly finished, O’Loughlin’s absence is not expected to affect production.
