The Lindsay docu-series premiered last night in an effort to boost not only OWN (Oprah Entertainment Network) ratings, but also the esteem of Lohan’s peers.

And if last night is any indication, it may fail miserably on both fronts.

While Lindsay was full of hopeful mantras about recovery and peace, living them seems to be another story entirely. She fluctuates between denial of the seriousness of the situation and refusal to accept responsibility for the way others treat her, with a healthy dose of indecision and bad choices thrown in for good measure.

Dina Lohan did her part, appearing chipper and supportive, but I kept wondering when Lindsay will address the elephant in the room — that her mom let her have too much too soon, and was more a friend than a guiding force.

Also featured was Dina’s sprawling home, and I couldn’t help wondering if it was funded by paparazzi tip offs.

Teasers for following episodes promise disappointment in Lindsay’s actions and a call to “cut the bull****” from Oprah herself.

Let’s face it — when Oprah Winfrey knocks on your door and tells you it’s time to “cut the bull***”, life just got really real. The question is, is Lindsay ready to face REAL reality? Only time will tell.
