An Ohio police chief posted an open letter to Kanye West on the Facebook page of the Brimfield Police Department, taking the rapper to task over recent remarks about his hazardous occupation.
Chief David Oliver found it unsettling when he heard that the Yeezus entertainer likened his daring stunts on stage as akin to the dangers that a police officer or a soldier in a war face in the line of duty.”
During a Saturday Night Online radio interview Dec. 7, Kanye said, “When I think about when I’m on the ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ and ‘Coldest Winter’ moments, that mountain goes really, really high. And if I slipped … you never know. And I think about it. I think about my family, and I’m like, ‘Wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.'”
Oliver suggests sarcastically that West “immediately abandon your career as a super star and join the military… because, you sir, are as misguided as they come.”
We really enjoyed his final statement, “Check yourself, before you wreck yourself…”
