Charlize Theron had tongues wagging Friday when photographers captured images suggesting the South African celeb had recently undergone minor neck surgery.

The actress was rocking a white Stella McCartney dress on the red carpet at Variety’s 5th Annual Power of Women event at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons, but seemed to move her head stiffly while posing.

Attendees noticed that a white band of material covering Theron’s neck slipped slightly, revealing surgical tape over a small incision.

Her recent “small procedure” was to correct an older vertebra injury that Charlize suffered on a film set some years ago. It started to bother her recently, prompting the mini surgery.

The small line of stitches might have gone unnoticed, according to a reporter at the Beverly Wilshire, had she not called attention to it, “She kept fussing with the white scarf she was wearing to cover the base of her neck, causing the stitch line to poke out and be visible.”

Theron has recently been filming ‘Dark Places’ in Shreveport, Louisiana. The 38-year-old is a single parent to her 18-month-old adopted son Jackson, who is often seen with his famous mom when she is on location.
