Katy Perry and her marketing team tricked out an 18-wheeler in shiny gold to hype the release of her upcoming album ‘Prism,’ set to launch on Oct. 22, 2013.
Rocker Adam Lambert captured a photo of the mega-ride in Los Angeles on Monday and tweeted, “Yes @katyperry this is crazy!! Love it!”
She told Billboard in late 2012, “I know exactly the record I want to make next. I know the artwork, the coloring and the tone…. I even know what type of tour I’m doing next. I’ll be very pleased if the vision I have in my head becomes a reality.”
Twitter’s most popular woman, having recently overtaken Lady Gaga, invited her 40 million fans to “find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I’ll RT you. Don’t worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map.”
The entertainer was honored last week by Capitol Records in Hollywood for selling 71 million singles and 10 million albums.
Katy, the voice of Smurfette, hit the premiere of ‘Smurfs 2’ over the weekend and posed with fellow musician Britney Spears, who attended the star-studded event with her sons Sean, 7, and Jayden, 6 – see gallery pics here.
