Famous cover girl Cindy Crawford, 47, pulled out a vintage swimsuit image to share with her Twitter fans in honor of Throwback Thursday and it was a dandy that was captured three decades ago.
She tweeted, “My very first “cover” during high school in DeKalb, shot in my high school boyfriend’s backyard.”
As an afterthought, she added, “….Believe me when I say I had absolutely no idea where that photo would lead to!”
For the record, she was sweet 16 when the photo was captured. The dark haired beauty went on to graduate from DeKalb High School in 1984, as class valedictorian.
She won a scholarship to study chemical engineering at Northwestern University but dropped out after only one quarter to pursue a full-time modeling career — and the rest is history.
After a four year union with actor Richard Gere 1991-1995, Crawford wed former model Rande Gerber in 1998. They have two children: Presley, 13, and Kaia, 11.
Cindy claims the secret to her success has been to under promise and over deliver. We’ve included a couple of her poses for your consideration… and yes, she is wearing a swimsuit in the center pose!
