Week 5 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ turned out to be the end of the line for celebrity contestant D.L. Hughley and his pro partner Cheryl Burke.

The comedian expressed relief, “It’s hard to be this bad for this long at something. I remember I was performing my standup act on stage Friday and people were laughing and clapping and I was like ‘Oh, this is who I am!’ I feel like I forgot who I was.”

He added, “My heart is very sad but my knees are happy as hell. I think we took the ride as long as we could. The days were getting longer…”

Partner Cheryl was happy they made it halfway through the season. “The judges didn’t help us at all. Just to be able to dance for the fans and to work hard for them because they obviously believed in him and wanted him to do well — that’s what it was all about.”

D.L.’s fellow comedian Andy Dick cracked wise last night. He left host Tom Bergeron speechless when he told Derek Hough’s celeb partner, “I want to be on your team, Kellie, just so we can call it Team Pickler Dick!”
