MTV has canceled ‘Buckwild’ after the death of cast member Shain Gandee, halting production in the middle of filming season 2.

The controversial reality show debuted on January 3, 2013 and followed the lives of nine young adults who were seemingly up to no good in West Virginia.

An official announcement is expected from the network regarding their decision to pull the plug several days after producer J.P. Williams was told that the show would go on despite the tragic death of Gandee.

He and two passengers died from carbon monoxide poisoning after their vehicle got stuck in the mud in the middle of the night during an off-road excursion.

Sources say that four episodes of season 2 were filmed but will not be aired. A special was taped 2 months ago and MTV may opt to move forward with that episode.

Two other cast members have landed on the wrong side of the law. Salwa Amin picked up an arrest for drug possession and Michael Burford got nabbed for a DUI.
