Adam Lambert and his Finnish television host boyfriend Sauli Koskinen have split after a three year relationship.

The “American Idol” runner-up told South Florida Gay News last Friday, “It’s been kind of on-its-way-out in the last couple of months.”

Adopting the usual Hollywood spiel, they claim to have ended their relationship on a high note.

Adam admits it sounds cliche, but he got Sauli coffee and a bagel earlier today and still thinks he’s a great person. Lambert insists their time together was amazing and that the relationship simply ran its course.

The big reason behind the split was their busy schedules and the stress of maintaining a long-distance relationship.

Lambert said, “I’ve been getting really busy and traveling a lot and and he’s been getting really busy because he has a show he’s filming for Finnish television. So we just decided to part ways.”

In 2011 Adam and Sauli were arrested for fighting outside a bar in Finland. They spent the night in jail and later said they had simply consumed too much alcohol.
