There is a simmering feud going between ‘Dancing with the Stars’ celebrity contestant D.L. Hughley and veteran judge Len Goodman.
Hughley tweeted last night, “So Angry and disgusted I thought about leaving DWTS tonight! But hell nah! Ima try and dance til it ain’t no mo dancing to do! #TeamDL”
Pro Cheryl Burke danced a not-so-sexy Salsa with DL during Prom Week. Len critiqued, “Well … if you’re a sex machine, I’m America’s Next Top Model. I’m telling you, it was as untidy as a teenagers bedroom.” Bruno Tonioli chimed in, “You need a hip replacement.”
After the Week 3 elimination of country singer Wynonna Judd, the stand-up comic told a reporter backstage that the judges seem to enjoy “crossing the line” with their criticism and they are nothing more than “bullies.”
D.L. is tired of being a “verbal punching bag.” He offered, “I think that there are people that you can’t elevate, so you can only choose to deal with them how they choose to deal with you.”
Hughley explained, “I don’t like the idea of somebody having a mic and me not. That to me is cowardly. What did I do? Did I dance so poorly that I made Len upset that I get to dance again? This experience is starting to be horrible for me. It’s not fun. It’s like going to school and the principal has it out for you. I don’t need you to help me, just look the other way.”
Pro Tony Dovolani is out of a job now that his partner Wynonna got the boot. He wasn’t buying into Hughley’s rant. “The judges say what they say and they mean it. That’s what our show is about. They can’t take emotions into account.”
We’ve included DL’s Salsa for your consideration. Did Len get it right?
