NBC’s TODAY show featured a big announcement Wednesday by weekend anchor Jenna Wolfe, who revealed that she is expecting a baby in late summer.
Wolfe told Matt Lauer, “This is big for me. I’m actually pregnant.” For emphasis she added, “I’m quite pregnant, actually.”
The 39-year-old anchor underwent artificial insemination using an anonymous donor and is due on August 27.
That wasn’t the only bombshell. Jenna followed up the baby news with the revelation that her partner of three years is NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk.
Wolfe said, “This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to us. But I don’t want to bring my daughter into a world where I’m not comfortable telling everyone who I am and who her mother is.”
Stephanie added, “The beauty is that we live in a time where there’s no need for secrecy. This is a spectacular moment for us.”
Jenna hit Twitter to share a photo of the gift she received from her TODAY colleagues, “Look what @todayshow gave me – a onesie!! I love it!! Sadly I tried it on twice and it still doesn’t fit me.”
