Kim Kardashian has dropped her lawsuit against Old Navy after the popular clothing brand agreed to pay the reality star an unspecified sum for using a look-alike model last year in their advertising campaign.
The clothier introduced a print and television ad campaign dubbed “Super C-U-T-E” in February 2011. The promotion featured Melissa Molinaro, an attractive Canadian model who bears a striking resemblance to Kim.
Gary Hecker filed a lawsuit on behalf of his high-profile client in July 2011 claiming Old Navy was trying to dupe the public into thinking the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ celeb was fronting for the brand — effectively using her popularity to sell product.
After the settlement Hecker said, “The lawsuit was resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties.” He declined to elaborate further.
The look-alike was so convincing that Kim’s old boyfriend Reggie Bush actually hooked up with her for a short fling.
