Rapper M-Bone, aka Montae Talbert, 22, was in the wrong place at the wrong time last night and it cost him his life.

The Cali Swag District musician was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting, according to Inglewood police Lt. Michael Marshall. Law enforcement investigators have characterized the fatal incident as a “random act of violence.”

M-Bone was sitting in his vehicle, outside a liquor store at 11:32 p.m. on Sunday night, when an unknown shooter, in a car traveling down La Brea Avenue, killed the entertainer.

The Dougie rapper received several shots to the head by an assailant who pulled up alongside the car M-Bone was riding in, and unloaded several rounds. The musician was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the death, but have not uncovered evidence that would suggest that Talbert was the subject of an intentional hit.

UPDATE: Could a beef over a girl have led to the rapper’s death? That is what M-Bone’s friends are thinking may have happen.

Investigators have uncovered the fact that the rapper had been getting threatening comments on Twitter regarding his relationship with an L.A. woman — perhaps from a disgruntled former boyfriend of the female. The vehicle that M-Bone was killed in is registered to the woman in question. Friends believe that the cyber smack-talk may have escalated.
