Boston Rob takes home $1 million …

Longtime Survivor player Rob Mariano, aka Boston Rob, has finally won after competing four times on the CBS reality show.

The 35-year-old beat out Phillip Sheppard and Natalie Tenerelli, earning eight of the nine votes cast. Suffice it to say, nobody was surprised.

Rob said: “You don’t know for sure until the votes are read, but I had a pretty good feeling. I played my heart out. I love this game, but you’ve got to get lucky along the way, too. I know what it takes.”

Mariano, who won $1 million, previously competed on the Marquesas, All-Stars and Heroes vs. Villains seasons. He and his wife Amber also appeared twice on The Amazing Race.

Redemption Island was the 22nd season. Survivor: South Pacific will premiere this fall.
