Two were fired and two remain …

There was a double elimination on the popular NBC reality show Celebrity Apprentice 4 Sunday night. The four remaining players were interviewed by past winners Bret Michaels, Joan Rivers and Piers Morgan.

The panel of returning celebrities asked John Rich which two should be fired. His response was Meat Loaf and Marlee Matlin.

Lil Jon was asked who would end up in the final two and he made a tactical error by naming John Rich and Marlee Matlin, leaving his own name out of the equation.

Meat Loaf told the panel that he had more energy than any of the other players and called Lil Jon lazy.

Academy Award winning actress Marlee Matlin told Rivers, Michaels and Morgan that her stint on Celebrity Apprentice 4 is “the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”

Back in the boardroom, Donald Trump fired Lil Jon and Meat Loaf.

The final two began their last task, putting together a four-pronged 7Up Retro campaign. The task involves designing packaging and store displays. They were instructed to write, create and produce a 30-second commercial, and put on a launch event.

Marlee Matlin chose a 70’s theme with the Harlem Globetrotters as her high profile talent. Assisting her: Meat Loaf, Richard Hatch and La Toya Jackson.

John Rich chose an 80’s theme–integrating the English rock band Def Leppard into his 7Up Retro strategy. Helping him: Lil Jon, Mark McGrath and Star Jones.

Part two of the final task will air next Sunday, May 22, 2011. During the two hour finale, Trump will chose his next Celebrity Apprentice. Matlin and Rich are vying for a $250,000 prize that will be awarded to the winner’s charity.
