Shelton apologizes for his ‘mea culpa’ …
Blake Shelton, award winning country crooner and a coach on The Voice, found himself in hot water this week after offering up a ‘tweet’ that he found to be oh so clever, and the folks at GLADD found offensive.
This is what he tweeted:
It didn’t take long for GLAAD to react. They fired off: “No, @BlakeShelton – violent, anti-gay statements are not what a woman wants.”
The Redneck apparently had an Aha! moment and offered up several ‘tweets’ of weak apology:
NBC and The Voice had Shelton’s back with this ‘tweet’: “@glaad listen to us #thevoice when we tell you that @BlakeShelton is all about love, laughter, music, and no hate. #teamblake.”
Blake is set to marry country superstar Miranda Lambert on May 14, 2011. They are both at the top of their game, cleaning up at the Grammy’s, ACM, and CMA Awards in 2010.
Shelton’s Twitter page is a piece of work … suffice it to say that he doesn’t have much of a filter.
