It’s official … Paul McCartney and girlfriend Nancy Shevell are engaged! The lovebirds have been dating since 2007 after being introduced at a party in the Long Island Hamptons.

This is the third marriage for the 68-year-old former Beatle . His first wife, Linda McCartney, died in 1998 after losing her battle with cancer. Paul adopted her daughter Heather early in the marriage, and the couple had three children together: Mary, Stella and James.

In 2002, the billionaire went on to marry animal rights activist Heather Mills. That union, which produced a daughter Beatrice, hit the skids and ended up costing Paul $50 million in a divorce settlement. Mills used part of her windfall to open a trendy London vegetarian restaurant.

New York socialite and businesswoman Nancy Shevell, 51, was previously married for 20 years to New York attorney Bruce Blakeman. She is on the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and is the vice president of administration at New England Motor Freight Inc., a New Jersey-based trucking company owned by her father.

Word is that all five of McCartney’s children are fond of Paul’s new fiancee. A wedding date has not yet been announced.
