Will the ailing A.I. contestant have to bail ?
One of Season 10’s Top 24 American Idol contestants has been hospitalized. Casey Abrams missed Thursday night’s show after being rushed to the hospital Wednesday with severe stomach pains.
The 20-year-old, originally from Wilmette, IL and now residing in Idyllwild, CA, reportedly needed a blood transfusion on Friday morning, just hours before he and the rest of the Top 12 men were scheduled to tape a segment for next week’s show.
Rumors are flying that he may have to bow out of the competition, potentially leaving the door open for an eliminated contestant to step in. Names being floated include Chris Medina or Colton Dixon.
According to TMZ, AI producers plan to rehearse the group at 4:30 p.m. and then pre-tape a performance to be aired next week. Latest word is that Abrams hopes to leave UCLA Medical Center long enough to wrap the segment and then return for additional treatment.
