The BET Awards were broadcast from the Shrine Auditorium in L.A. on Sunday. It turned out to be a big night for Chris Brown, who received top honors as Best Male R&B Artist.
Breezy also picked up Best Collaboration for Look at Me Now, the Viewers Choice Award and the FANdemonium Award.
Siblings Jaden and Willow Smith tied for the Young Stars Award. Other winners included Best Female R& B Artist Rihanna, Best Group Diddy Dirty Money, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Best New Artist Wiz Khalifa, Steve Harvey, Taraji P. Henson and Idris Elba.
There were a few snafu’s during the evenings events, including an awkward moment when the wrong winner was announced. Tiffany Green won the opportunity to present the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice award. Looking nervous, she bragged up some brand new technology from Sprint that she would use for the big reveal. She announced that Chris Brown was the winner, and then began to panic as she changed her mind and said that it was really Rihanna who had won.
The incident was far from over when host Terrence Jenkins claimed that the real winner was Drake, who took the stage and said: “Well, this is awkward.” It turns out he was really supposed to be accepting the award for Rihanna. But after all the dust settled, it turned out that the REAL winner was Chris Brown after all. If you’re confused, get in line.
