Kanye West unleashed a bizarre rant at 1:00 a.m. this morning while performing music from his new album at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom.
The rapper has been on his best behavior, for the most part, while promoting My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Suffice to say, he did a little backsliding in the wee hours of this morning.
Dressed in sunglasses, torn jeans and a military jacket, West sang selections from the new album and then spent his last 10-minutes on stage ranting and railing against Matt Lauer, George Bush and Taylor Swift.
He said: “Taylor never came to my defense at any interview. And rode the waves and rode it and rode it.” He rambled about the Today Show host and W: “Because of the popularity of me, they exploited that. It shows you — the way they try to villainize, the way they tried to do that.”
The diatribe was indulgent, filled with contradictions and lots of profanity. He seemed to use his first-week sales of 600,000 as a battering ram against his perceived detractors.
