The much anticipated cameo appearance in Hangover 2 ended unexpectedly for actor Mel Gibson. Currently involved in a out of control battle with disgruntled ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, the controversy was just too much for the actors and the franchise to risk his involvement.
Page Six is reporting that Mel is very upset after being removed from the movie. He doesn’t understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user who reportedly turned his life around, was given a chance and he was essentially kicked to the curb. He feels like everyone is entitled to a second chance.
Gibson was first chosen to play a tattoo artist in Hangover 2 but was given the boot and quickly replaced by actor Liam Neeson.
Oddly enough Gibson and Neeson have the same rep, who made a statement about Liam’s involvement in the project. He announced, with a knowing wink, that Liam’s new gig was “pending clearance of cast and crew background check.”
Gilbson’s ex-girlfriend Oksana recently referred to him as a “depressed lunatic”. Word does get around in Tinseltown and several of the movie’s co-stars didn’t want the guy anywhere near the project.
Zach Galifianakis is the star who launched the strongest protest.
