Sharon Osbourne and her daughter Kelly Osbourne were the grand marshals for the 40th Pride Parade in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 13, 2010.
The annual event celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender culture, and also serves as a platform to fight for legal rights, including same-sex marriage.
The festive and Marti Gras-like celebrations take place all over the world, featuring floats, dancers, drag queens, amplified music and marching groups.
The biggest pride parade, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2006. An estimated 2.5 million participated.
