Police arrest Colombian model Angie Sanclemente Valencia in Buenos Aires, Argentina on May 26, 2010. Interpol issued an international warrant for her arrest in March 2010. Despite the fact that she was registered under a false name at a local hostel and had altered her appearance by dying her hair blonde, she was captured without incident.

Velencia, dubbed the “Narco Queen”, was exposed on December 13, 2009, when a 21-year-old woman, referred to as ‘Ariel L’, was arrested with a suitcase full of cocaine at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aries. Six arrests were made based on her confession and an arrest warrant was issued for Valencia, the ringleader of the drug smuggling operation.

Angie’s mother, Jeanette Valencia, claims that her daughter is innocent and a victim of conspiracy. Sanclemente’s lawyer reports that his client hadn’t turned herself in previously because she feared she would be attacked and raped in prison.

Sanclemente won Colombia’s prestigious Queen of Coffee beauty pageant in 2000, when she was 20-years-old. Her reign was short-lived when it was determined that she violated the rules because she was married.
