The hit FOX reality show American Idol featured some great entertainment on Wednesday night’s elimination show. Hitting the stage were Bon Jovi, and former Idol alum Fantasia and Daughtry. The important business of the evening saw the Idol Top 4 contestants reduced by one.
The first to be announced as safe was Casey James. Next was Lee DeWyze. That left Michael Lynche and Crystal Bowersox swinging in the breeze until very late in the program. There really wasn’t much drama for viewers because Lynche has been consistently at the bottom of the pack and Bowersox is the clear front runner in the competition.
As most suspected, Big Mike reached the end of the line and was sent packing. His wife shed tears as she held their baby girl. Lynche’s parting song was a repeat of the Jackson tune he performed on Tuesday, “Will You Be There“. Many will recall that this was his second elimination — five weeks ago he would have been gone if it had not been for the ‘Judges Save’.
The American Idol Top 3 will visit their hometowns this week for a love fest. In a whirlwind of guest appearances this Friday, Crystal Bowersox will visit Toledo, Ohio and will perform an afternoon concert in Oak Harbor. Lee DeWyze will return to Skokie, Illinois and perform in concert that evening in Arlington Heights. Casey James calls home Grapevine, Texas and will perform a late afternoon concert at Fort Worth Stock Yard.
The final Idol performances will be on May 25th and the season finale will air on May 26, 2010.
