Actress Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley exchanged wedding vows in December 2007 and adopted a baby girl exactly two years later. Nancy Leigh is the couple’s special needs child who goes by the nickname Naleigh.
Mother and daughter were out and about yesterday shopping at Cross Creek in Hollywood. The newly brunette Heigl was quite accommodating to photographers and we’ve got some great photos to show for their efforts. We can’t help but think that Katherine’s darker hair color may be a nod to her beautiful little girl’s shiny black locks.
The Grey’s Anatomy star last appears on the medical drama in the January 21st episode. Deciding that motherhood trumped a Hollywood career, at least for now, she negotiated a release from her contract and announced on March 11, 2010 that she was off the show.
