Jim Carrey, 47, seems young to be a grandfather but the actor is excited about his latest role.
Carrey’s daughter Jane, 22, and her husband Alex Santana welcomed their first child Jackson Riley Santana at 12:28 a.m. Friday in Los Angeles. The baby boy – whose due date was March 3 – weighed in at 7 pounds 11 ounces, and measured 20 inches long.
While she was pregnant, the Jane Carrey Band singer-songwriter said she was looking forward to having a son with Santana, who is the lead singer for metal band Blood Money.
“I’m excited about it because I never really got along with girls growing up,” Carrey said last year. “I was a little afraid that if it was a girl that she would not like me, you know? So I’m very happy about the boy.”
In July, Carrey said of his daughter, “Jane is going to be a great mom.”
