He's back....again.  Brett Favre, 39, is officially a Minnesota Vikings quarterback after signing a two-year contract on Tuesday, August 18, 2009.   The sixteen year Green Bay Packer legend boarded Vikings owner Ziggi Wilf's private jet at Hattiesburg Laurel Regional Airport in Mississippi at 9:00 a.m.

The entourage, including Favre's wife Deanna Favre, landed at Holmon Field in St. Paul just before 11:30 a.m.  Favre hugged Coach Brad Childress before the group headed to Winter Park in Eden Prairie.

Favre reportedly signed a two-year $25 million contract, and according to Brett's agent Bus Cook, "It's a done deal."

By 1:30 p.m., Favre was on the field in a red practice jersey sporting the #4.  He donned a Vikings helmet for photographers - see video below.

There has always been an intense rivalry between the Packers and the Vikings.  Packer fans were deeply disappointed when Favre came out of retirement to play one season for the New York Jets.  Packer discontent has just ratcheted up considerably.

A news conference was held from Winter Park at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday night, where Brett held up his new purple jersey and took questions at the podium after making a short statement.
