Two weeks ago Billy Bob Thornton and his band members sat down for a Canadian radio interview and the actor proceeded to make Joaquin Phoenix look completely normal. The next day The Boxmasters were booed while performing in Toronto with Willy Nelson. Their next move was to announce the cancellation of the rest of their Canadian tour dates.

This week the renegade actor turned musician is singing a totally different tune and we’re guessing it has everything to do with his bands newly released album Modbilly on April 21. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Thornton acted nothing like the wacko who recently became hot internet news.

Kimmel appeared to be egging Billy Bob on by introducing him in the same manner that CBC radioman Jian Ghomeshi had in Toronto. The ploy didn’t work because Thornton came out from behind the curtain acting like Mr. Congeniality.

The rockabilly bandman was more than willing to discuss the fiasco. He said, “The fact that it was news was astounding to me. But it gave humpback geeks all over the world something to do for a couple of days.” Check it out here.

Thornton admits that he did get calls from many of his friends who were inquiring to make sure he was ok. We wonder if his ex-wife Angelina Jolie was one of those concerned enough to contact him. The two were known for their eccentric behavior, including the vials of each others blood that they wore around their necks.
