British reality star Jade Goody, 27, passed away just before 4 a.m. this morning in her sleep. The actress allowed cameras to follow her and her family around while she battled cancer.
Trying to get her life in order, Jade married boyfriend Jack Tweed in February, knowing that the end was near. In the hospital, Goody and her two sons from a previous relationship were baptized.
In 2002, the world first met Jade on the British reality show Big Brother, and last year she was on the India version of the Celebrity Big Brother show as well.
Jade was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August 2008. A book, chronicling her last few months of life, will be on sale within the next few months.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown said on Sunday, “She was a courageous woman both in life and death, and the whole country have admired her determination to provide a bright future for her children.”
She is survived by her husband Jack Tweed, two sons Bobby and Freddie, with ex-boyfriend Jeff Brazier, and her mother Jackiey Budden.
