Melinda Doolittle is poised to reenter the spotlight with the release of a new album. She has been on the down low following her successful run on the hit reality television show American Idol on FOX, where she had a very respectable showing. She took third place in season six, eventually being bested by beat-boxer Blake Lewis and teen winner Jordin Sparks.
The talented Doolittle has been a highly sought after backup singer, performing with Aaron Neville, Alabama, BeBe, CeCe Winans, Johnny Lang, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Anointed, Michael McDonald and Kirk Franklin.
Now she’s ready to stand alone in her music career with the launch of Coming Back to You, which debuted on February 3, 2009. The songstress is busy promoting her album in record stores across the country. See Doolittle’s MySpace page here.
