British Christie’s Auction House has announced the sale of several nude portraits of well known celebrities at an upcoming auction to be held on April 10, 2008 at Rockerfeller Plaza in New York City.
French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, and supermodels Gisele Bundchen and Kate Moss will have their nude likenesses sold to the highest bidder. The famous auction house dates back to 1766 and is said to have global sales of $5 billion.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy is reportedly furious that Christie’s timed the announcement to coincide with their two day official State Visit to London. They are reportedly spending one night at Windsor Castle, home of the Queen Elizabeth of England. The visit is an attempt to lend some credibility to Carla Bruni-Sarkozy’s new status as French royalty.
Sarkozy has been trying to live down his sordid romance with Carla Bruni and has reportedly given up his Rolex watch and his signature sunglasses in an attempt to appear more regal. French citizens have reportedly turned against their leader and this latest news is not likely to warm their spirits toward Nicolas Sarkozy and his new bride. Their 80 day whirlwind romance culminated with an intimate wedding a month ago.
