Britney Spears has broken her silence.

Because the singer has something very important to say.

About three weeks after she was checked into a mental health facility, the singer has filmed herself and uploaded a video to Instagram in order to quell the ongoing rumors about her condition.

She felt forced to do so after hearing or reading about chatter that included many folks online thinking she was being held against her will in this facility.

Such talk had grown so incessant (and ridiculous) that a #FreeBritney movement has been trending on Twitter.

The sentiment has been nice, we suppose, but Britney makes it clear here that it’s also been wildly and dangeorusly off base.

“Hi guys, just checking in with all of you who are concerned about me,” the 37-year old says in this footage, adding:

"All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal.

"Don’t worry I’ll be back very soon."

Spears did not include any specific updates about either herself or her father, who deteriorating medical condition is reportedly what prompted Britney to seek professional help in early April.

The artist simply wrote the following as a caption to this video:

“I wanted to say hi because things that are being said have just gotten out of control!!!

"Wow!!! There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things — crazy things being said. I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me."

We’ll translate for you:

STFU, trolls, haters and critics.

Back in January, Spears canceled a number of her upcoming Las Vegas concerts.

She told followers in a heartfelt message that her dad had nearly died from a couple major surgeries and she had to be there for him right now.

Totally understandable, right?

About three months later, allegedly off her medication and suffering some sort of relapse related to her sad breakdown in 2007, Spears checked into some sort of rehab center.

She hasn’t issued a statement about this decision until now.

With misguided social media users blaming her family for her mental state and speculating like crazy online, Britney felt a need to finally speak out on everything here.

"Don’t believe everything you read and hear," she added in her caption, concluding:

"My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment. You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want!

"Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful.

"Love you."

Earlier in the same day, Britney’s boyfriend, Sam Asghari, gave TMZ an update on the singer’s treatment after being spotted out with her on Sunday, April 21.

“She’s doing amazing,” he said. “Her fans are amazing to be so concerned, but she’s doing great. … Nobody needs to worry. She’s doing amazing. She’ll be back soon.”
