Has the bubble burst for Jennifer Aniston? It appears not – but how can that be. Let’s look at the facts.
Her wildly popular sitcom, “Friends”, ended a record run and husband Brad Pitt seemed to exit in the very next breath. In fact, rumors ran rampant that he was already falling out of love. His conspicuous absence from the “Friends” final taping and wrap party raised eyebrows throughout their fan base. Aniston took on a string of lightweight movie roles – all box office disappointments. She suffered a very public humiliation as Brad and Angelina became the new darlings of the media.
We collectively sighed when it seemed that Jen had found new love with Vince Vaughn. We struggled with Vaughn’s low key star appeal. Could he possibly help to keep her own appeal alive or would he pull her down into mere mortal status. The romance was kept so far below the radar that we were never quite sure if it was real or just a couple of friends comforting each other. Her subsequent liaisons have been discrete.
That seems to be key with Aniston. She is discrete in the midst of Hollywood – where the outrageous reigns supreme. She seeks the comfort of a small group of friends, and manages to shield her personal life like a mother guarding her young. This would ordinarily be a career killer but in Jen’s case, it has had quite the opposite effect. The latest buzz is that her celebrity magazine covers outsell any other star in the country. She is definitely a woman of mystery and we love her.
