Can the Internet handle another social network? Scott Banister from Silicon Valley thinks that he may have the new ticket to the social network world. Zivity.com will have a whole new twist, so if you were thinking it will be just like MySpace or Facebook you are wrong.
Zivity will be an ‘invite only’ network in the beginning and will cost it’s members a $10 monthly subscription fee. The basic features are the same as other social sites where you can meet friends. The difference with Zivity is that they will have nude photos of women posing in provocative ways and the members get to vote for their favorites.
Each member will get 5 votes a month and the model posing for the pictures and their photographer will be paid by the number of votes they receive. Currently there is a waiting list with 30,000 people on it….so this looks like a very profitable endeavor.
The reason behind the membership fee is so that they can have an ad free site. This will also allow the members to be able to post their naughty photos without being used for profit.
Banister said:
“When you are 100% supported by advertisers you’re kind of in a strait jacket. We’re trying to create a social network environment that doesn’t have to play into that strait jacket….We’ve sent the advertisers packing.”
Hey Zivity – Bitten and Bound would love a membership, please put us on the list. If you would like to read more on Zivity, check it out here.
