Idol runner-up and Broadway performer Clay Aiken, 29, has reportedly fathered a child by record producer Jaymes Foster. She is the 50 year old sister of record mogul David Foster. Jaymes has worked with Clay on several of his albums and has opened her home to him whenever he is in L.A. The two have reportedly been good friends for several years.
The mother-to-be was artificially inseminated and will be giving birth to the child in August. She was previously married for 23 years. This is her first pregnancy.
Aiken chooses not to discuss his sexuality but admits that when rumors that he was gay surfaced during his “Idol” run, it was a tough time. He said:
It can be difficult initially. I think when you get into anything and you’re not used to people scrutinizing this, that or the other… it bothers you. After awhile you kind of just say, ‘Forget this… This is not who I am, this is not about me, what I want to do is be a singer, want to be an entertainer, and forget all that stuff.’”
Clay has a new album titled On My Way Here. He recently finished up a three month stint on Broadway in Spamalot. The musical tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table on their quest from God for the Holy Grail – with a short stop in the dazzling Spam-filled land of Camelot.
