Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate received great news after having a double mastectomy. The 36 year old actress is now totally free of cancer.
Applegate took the opportunity on Good Morning America to tell the world that she is “clean and clear” of cancer. Christina was diagnosed earlier this summer with early stage breast cancer and because she quickly sought treatment, all is going to be OK.
“Sometimes I cry, sometimes I scream, it’s all part of healing…it’s OK to cry, it’s OK to fall on the ground and just scream if you want to.”
Not letting the mastectomy get her down, Christina will undergo reconstructive surgery in the next 8 months and is keeping a great attitude.
“I am going to have cute boobs until I am 90. I am going to have the best boobs in the nursing home.”
Applegate is the daughter of a breast cancer survivor and was smart enough to start getting checked regularly since turning 30. The blow didn’t come any easier for her.
We will all have an opportunity to support Christina and those who are currently dealing with breast cancer, as well as honor those who have lost their battle, on September 5th when NBC, ABC and CBS will air Stand Up to Cancer.
