Sarah Palin is related to Princess Diana and Franklin D. Roosevelt according to genealogy experts.

Ancestry.com reports that Palin and the princess are tenth cousins, while the Alaskan governor and the late president are ninth cousins once removed.

According to Ancestry.com’s chief family historian Megan Smolenyak, “When you’ve got candidates who have deep roots in America, there’s a good chance that they’re going to have some famous cousins.”

Researchers also discovered that Barack Obama and Brad Pitt are distant cousins, and last year, Vice President Dick Cheney’s wife Lynne Cheney, found that her husband was related to Obama.

“We’ve all got literally millions of cousins. The trick is finding that one little connection that results in something like Sarah Palin being related to FDR or Diana,” says Smolenyak.

Crazy, huh?
