Broadway actress Nikki Blonsky is making news again with the announcement that the Hairspray star has joined the cast of Ugly Betty for at least one guest appearance. She will play Teri, an assistant at Elle who becomes a confidant of Betty Suarez. We’re told she comes with her own agenda so be forewarned – don’t turn your back on her Betty.

Ugly Betty airs Thursday’s on ABC. The guest episode is expected to air before the end of December. Whether it will turn into a longer term commitment appears to be up in the air. Either way, you can bet Blonsky is trying to clean up her recently tattered image.
