Jeremy Piven (L), Elizabeth Moss and Raul Esparza (R)
“Entourage” star Jeremy Piven, who recently pulled out of the Broadway show “Speed the Plow” for extreme mercury toxicity was mocked by former castmates Raul Esparza and Elizabeth Moss after Sunday’s matinee.
After the curtain call, sources say Esparza bashed Piven while Moss sobbed.
“He said, ‘I’m sure you’ve read the headlines about the silliness in our show.’ Then he said, ‘Today was the first time I really enjoyed playing this show. I hope you weren’t expecting a big TV star.’ It was pretty emotional.”
According to Dr. Carlon Colker, Piven, an avid sushi eater for many years, had been taking certain Chinese herbs, that, in combination with his frequent sushi consumption, could have led to his elevated mercury levels.
One of the symptoms of mercury poisoning is extreme fatigue. Jeremy was also experiencing neuro-muscular dysfunction, which led to extreme difficulty in lifting his arms and legs. Then he began feeling dizzy. The acotr spent three days in the hospital and the doctors ordered enforced rest.
Colker says Piven is disappointed that members of the production staff of “Speed-the-Plow” and other members of the entertainment community have not rallied behind him during his health crisis.
“Speed the Plow” will continue its run through February, with Oscar nominee William H. Macy taking over for the duration of the run.
