Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper were broadcasting a live outdoor CNN show on New Year’s Eve when the comedian’s normally ‘over the top’ behavior launched itself to a new level.
As Anderson was giving Griffin a hard time about hosting a reunion of Bad Girls Club, a Star Jones gig, an off-camera harasser got into the act.
As Anderson was attempting to cut to a break, Kathy, not impressed by the double teaming, lashed out at the heckler and said, “Get a job. I don’t go to your work and knock the *expletive* out of your mouth.”
A CNN spokeswoman issued the following statement: “We recognize that the comment made by comedian Kathy Griffin during the live broadcast was inappropriate. She did not know she was on the air at the time, and we removed it from the rebroadcast.”
